FOR A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP
The hotel is partially located in a beautifully restored 19th-century granary, built according to the plans of its namesake Ludwig Persius. The choice is yours: historic flair with rustic wooden supports, or modern architecture with balcony. Whatever room you choose, you will be staying in a stylish ambience created by the English designer Jasper Morrison. The permanent photographic exhibition by Widbert Giessing will give you a nice first insight into the historical architecture of Potsdam.

STANDARD ROOMS 20 M²
The comfortable Standard Rooms have a size of 20 m². Experience the ambience of the 19th-century Persius Granary with historic beam construction and castle-style round arch windows. The rooms are located in the hotel’s old building complex built in 1841. The colourful design of the rooms creates an exclusive atmosphere.

The Gasthouse is a casual eating establishment serving many popular dishes and regional classics. Here you can savour some all-time favourites and enjoy a friendly chat over a freshly tapped beer or a glass of wine. The Gasthouse is a melting pot for young and old, a place where you can hang up your tie and ponder what it would be like to feast in one of Potsdam’s many castles. In the summer, you may dine on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Havel.

Potsdam is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a city of castles and gardens. It is a magnificent and historic cultural pearl with idyllic lakes and more than 1,000 years of history. Potsdam is a centre of film, education and science, a colourful student town and, by the way, right next to the lively German capital of Berlin.


THE EXACT LOCATION

Hotel am Havelufer is an exciting blend of styles, with a historic building designed by the 19th-century architect Ludwig Persius and a modern part created by Rave Architekten. The hotel is located in Potsdam City West right on the banks of the river Havel. Want to go exploring? The main train station is about 3 km, Berlin’s Tegel and Schönefeld airports about 35 km away. Are you a cyclist? Then rent a bike and explore one of the numerous bicycle routes through Potsdam and the surrounding area starting directly in front of the hotel.


SANSSOUCI – ROYAL AND SUBLIME

Sanssouci Palace, the summer residence and favourite retreat of Frederick the Great, is beautifully situated above a terraced vineyard with breathtaking views over the entire city. The name Sanssouci – French for “without concerns” – can be understood as the wish of the king, known affectionately as “Old Fritz”, who preferred Potsdam to Berlin and resided here with his dogs. Enjoy a stroll through the 300-acre Sanssouci Park with its fascinating natural settings and magnificent buildings such as the New Palace, the Picture Gallery and the Orangery.

Take regional train RE1 in the direction of Magdeburg to “Bahnhof Charlottenhof”. From there, Hotel am Havelufer is just five minutes away on foot. Alternatively, you can take tram line 91 in the direction of “Potsdam Pirschheide” or bus line 631 in the direction of “Werder Bahnhof” to “Bahnhof Charlottenhof”.

Coming from the south and west:
Coming from Munich/Leipzig, take the A9 to Berlin. At the Potsdam junction continue east to the exit “Michendorf” and merge onto the B2 to Potsdam. From “Lange Brücke” you pass the Potsdam main station and follow the B1. Drive along Breite Straße to Zeppelinstraße. The hotel is on the left.

Coming from the north:
Coming from Hamburg/Rostock take the A10 towards Berlin. Exit at Potsdam-Nord and continue on the B273 to Potsdam. Pass Luisenplatz and follow Zeppelinstraße. The hotel is on the left.

Coming from Berlin Tegel (TXL):
Take the A111 towards Dresden/Magdeburg/Leipzig/Zentrum and change to the A100. Ext at A115/E51 in the direction of Magdeburg/Leipzig/Potsdam and follow this in the direction of Potsdam-Zentrum. From “Lange Brücke” you pass the Potsdam main station and follow the B1. Drive along Breite Straße to Zeppelinstraße. The hotel is on the left.

Coming from Berlin Schönefeld (SXF):
Start at Seebraben on the B96a west towards Waltersdorfer Chaussee. Follow the B101 over the ramp in the direction of A10/Berlin Ring/Luckenwalde/Potsdam. Then take the exit to Großbeeren. Follow Märkische Allee and turn right into Bahnhofsstraße. Following the L40, you will reach Potsdam via Nuthestrasse, then go past Potsdam main station to Zeppelinstraße. The hotel is on the left.

PARKING
Plenty of outdoor parking is available directly at Hotel am Havelufer. The lot is operated externally and costs € 10/day.
